INTRODUCTION Catalog Prodema Prodex
PRODEX HPL EXTERNAL facade cladding
PRODEX HPL facade panels are a construction kit for ventilated facade cladding consisting of natural wood boards and an appropriate substructure. Each panel consists of a high density bakelite core, covered with a natural wood veneer with a surface coated with synthetic resin and an external PVDF film that provides greater durability to the panels, with anti-adhesive properties that protect the panel from solar radiation, atmospheric agents, dirt and attacks by chemical products (anti-graffiti). Due to its high resistance, it does not require the typical maintenance of other types of outdoor wood.
PRODEX veneered panels are unique, no two are the same, each grain is different, which explains the difference in shade between them and gives them a natural and authentic appearance that can be appreciated in the reflection of light on the wood fibers.
At Prodema we have invested a significant part of our resources in continuous improvement of the quality of our products, subsequently obtaining various certificates of tests carried out in independent laboratories.
This is because our philosophy of continuous improvement obliges us to obtain the most demanding quality certificates, such as the ISO 9001 quality management standard.
PRODEMA HPL board dimensions
PRODEX panels are extremely versatile and can be cut to various shapes and sizes to adapt them to the needs of all projects. Always follow the cutting instructions provided in this technical catalogue (see section 2.4).

PRODEX SYSTEM CERTIFICATES
Due to the high quality of the PRODEX system, it meets the most demanding certifications in various countries.
Prodema carries out a comprehensive quality control process for PRODEX and offers a 10-year warranty**. If the panel is installed at an angle greater than 30º, the warranty will be reduced to 5 years due to
increased solar radiation and the possibility of water settling on the surface of the panels.

TECHNICAL DATA SHEETS Prodema Prodex HPL facade boards
BEFORE INSTALLING THE PRODUCT Prodema Prodex HPL wood-like
RECEIVING THE PROdema MATERIAL.
Check the condition of the shipment:
• In case of visible damage, leave details on the carrier’s waybill.
• In case of hidden damage, report it within 72 hours.
No claims for shipping damage will be accepted if any of these instructions are not followed.
HANDLING AND STORAGE of Prodema boards.
• PRODEX panels must be stored in a closed and air-conditioned room, at an ambient temperature of 10–25º C and air humidity of 30–70%.
• It is recommended to store PRODEX panels in their original packaging until installation. In the event that it is necessary to repack any panel, this should be done in the same conditions as in the original packaging.
• After opening the packaging, it is recommended to remove only those PRODEX panels that will be installed immediately. The remaining panels must be stored in the same conditions in their original packaging.
• PRODEX panels cannot be stored vertically, only horizontally on a pallet with supports
< 800 mm distance. Improper storage can cause deformation of the panels.
• The floor under the pallet must be free of materials and contaminants that can affect the stability of the pallet.
• During transport, PRODEX panels must be properly secured as they easily move when stacked, which can damage them. They must always be placed horizontally on a flat surface. • It is recommended to avoid exposing both sides of the PRODEX panel to different humidity and temperature conditions. When
PRODEX panels are fitted with fixings (such as hidden fixing clips), they must be stored face to face; back to back, using wooden or plastic supports placed between the panels at a maximum distance of 600 mm.
• These instructions also apply to cut panels.
RANDOM PLACEMENT OF PRODEMA HPL FACADE PANELS
PRODEX facade panels are manufactured from natural wood, therefore they may show differences in shade. Before production and installation, it is recommended to mix the panels in order to obtain an even distribution of shades throughout the facade. The following steps are described in detail below:
1. Number all pallets 1, 2, 3 etc. – The pallets must be stored throughout the production/installation process
in accordance with the requirements described in section 2.2.
2. Open pallet no. 1 and remove two panels – Place these two panels on a flat pallet, maintaining a maximum distance of 800 mm between the supports.
3. Turn over the third panel from pallet no. 1 without removing it from the pallet.
4. Close pallet no. 1 and store it in accordance with the packaging conditions given in section 2.2.
5. Repeat the same process with the remaining pallets, selecting them in random order until 10 to 20 panels have been removed. For example, if there are 20 pallets, remove panels from numbers 1, 8, 13, 15 and
20 or in another random order.
6. Mix the 10 to 20 removed panels and install them within 2 to 3 hours of removing the first panel.
7. Repeat the first six steps until all panels have been installed.
PRODEMA PRODEX Wood-like PANEL MODULE SIZE
Depending on the module size chosen for the façade, the aesthetic effect in most cases
is summarized as the following two options:
A. Installation of battens.
B. Installation of full-size panels or large modules.
Natural wood will always show differences in shade between panels. This difference in colour between
panels is more visible when installing large-sized panels (photo on the right). However, the difference in
colour will be minimised when smaller-sized panels are used (photo on the left). This is most noticeable
only in the Rustik and Pale colours. If you wish to see smaller colour differences, a control sample
should be sent with your material order. We will then make every effort to produce panels with a more uniform colour,
although there will always be variations.
PRODUCTION of Prodema Prodex facades
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CUTTING PRODEMA PRODEX facade panels
The panels must be cut to square before cutting. Cuts on external panels must be made using tools with a material hardness of K – 05 and K – 01 (tungsten carbide / Widia), must be well sharpened and overheating must be avoided in any case.
A. SAW
Types of saws and blades:
Circular saws for wood made of hard material (Widia tip) or saw blades designed for HPL boards
(high pressure laminate).
Blade parameters depending on the type of tool:
DIAMETER TEETH SPEED BLADE THICKNESS TYPES OF TEETH
(mm) (z) (rpm) (mm)
300 48 4000-6000 3.2 Alternate bevel teeth (1)
250 40 / 48 4000-6000 3.2 and trapezoidal (2).
190 30 3000-3500 2.2
Positioning the Prodema panel
The saw blade must always start cutting from the front (face) side of the panel.
• Table saw: the front side of the panel must face up.
• Hand saw: the front side of the panel must face down.
Cutting blade height:
To obtain a clean cut, we recommend that the blade height is 1-2 cm above the surface of the panel.
After cutting the Prodex Prodema HPL board:
After cutting (cutting, drilling, edge grinding, if required), no other finishing or protective processing is required. Uneven edges can be smoothed with sandpaper.
B. CNC Prodex panel
The PRODEX panel can be made using numerically controlled (CNC) machines. Make sure that the bits are always well sharpened.
Recommended speeds when cutting Prodema Prodex facade panels:
• Cutting speed: 16,000 rpm.
• Feed speed: 4 m/min.
It is very important to avoid overheating the machine. The speeds recommended above must be monitored throughout the production process to ensure optimal results.
C. ALTERNATIVE SYSTEMS
In addition to the systems already mentioned, there are other processing options. Not all of them are compatible with the material.
• Water jet cutting: this system is compatible with PRODEX panels, however it is advisable to carry out a test beforehand to adjust the parameters.
• Laser cutting: this system is not recommended for use on PRODEX panels, as it will blacken and burn the wood veneer
DRILLING RECOMMENDATIONS Prodema Prodex
PRODEX panels are drilled using hard metal drills or steel drills with tungsten carbide tips (Widia) with a cutting angle greater than 100º. Drills for perforating metal can also be used.
To avoid chipping the material to be drilled, it is best to use a support plate under the panel to obtain a clean hole (see figure 1). If a support plate is not used, the finished surface of the panel will face upwards (see Figure 2)
Drilling speed recommendations:
• Cutting speed: 16,000 rpm. /min.
• Feed speed: 4 m/min.
NOTE: Should only be used as a reference point as these will vary from tool to tool.
INSTALLATION
PRODEX PRODEMA PRODUCT
GENERAL
PRODEMA VENTILATED FACADES
Did you know that… the use of a ventilated façade is essential for the installation of PRODEX panels?
To ensure good performance of this type of panel, it is very important that the humidity and temperature differences between the two surfaces are minimal. A ventilated facade has several advantages over a conventional facade:
Waterproofness to rain of ventilated facades.
A ventilated facade provides better water resistance to rain and prevents water from entering
the air chamber.
• Ensures good diffusion of water vapor from the interior of the building to the outside.
• A ventilated facade generates constant air ventilation and prevents
stagnant moisture or damp insulation.
• Reduces thermal bridges to a minimum
Improved acoustic insulation
• Thermal insulation
Generates energy savings of up to 50%* by absorbing less heat in the summer and dissipating less heat in the winter.
• Easy assembly and disassembly and a good solution for renovations
In summer or during hot weather, the sun shines on PRODEX panels instead of the building. This solar radiation heats the air in the air chamber, generating a “chimney” effect due to the change in its density. The ventilation created in this way prevents heat from accumulating on the facade, which, together with thermal insulation, is an ideal combination protecting the building from atmospheric factors.
In winter or during frosts, the ventilated façade acts as a heat accumulator, because the air chamber supports the thermal stability of the system. This ventilated façade construction system, together with thermal insulation, prevents heat loss from the building.
* Depending on the direction in which the building faces, the insulation used and the number of doors, windows, etc.
Did you know that… a ventilated façade requires unobstructed, continuous airflow to ensure proper performance?
• The airflow space behind the panel must be at least 20 mm. Please note that national or local regulations must be observed.
• Leave a 20 mm opening at the top and bottom of the façade, as well as at door and window openings. This is critical to ensure the required airflow.
• The substructure used to create the airflow space must be installed in a vertical direction. If conditions require horizontal strips, they will require drainage holes allowing 20 cm2/m on facades up to a height of 1 m and 50 cm2/m on facades above 1 m. _elewacje_wentylowane-27.jpg”>SUPPORT

DIMENSIONAL STABILITY
PRODEX is finished with natural wood veneer and will be subject to dimensional changes due to temperature and humidity fluctuations. The maximum dimensional change in the longitudinal direction is 0.30%, and in the transverse direction 0.60%.
These minor dimensional changes do not affect either the aesthetics or the performance of the panels. It is therefore very important to take into account the expansion joints indicated by Prodema.
PRODEX is resistant to steam, water, snow and ice. However, we do not recommend permanently or for long periods of time immersing the panels in any of these conditions, as a darker colour may appear along the edges of the panel surface.
SUBSTRUCTURE OPTIONS Ventilated facades
Since PRODEX panels require a ventilated facade for installation, the battens used as a substructure
must be installed vertically. The attachment of the battens to the substrate must be done using fasteners suitable for the material used.
The substructure system must comply with local wind load requirements and building regulations.
The installation method, thickness and dimensions of the panel will also be taken into account. Finally, the substructure system components must be protected against corrosion, regardless of the material or type of installation.
Metal subframe. ALU brackets
In rainy or humid areas, galvanized steel or aluminum strips are recommended. In coastal areas, we recommend stainless steel or anodized aluminum strips.
Wooden subframe Wooden substructure Prodema ventilated facades.
This type subframe requires treated timber. PVC or closed cell polyethylene foam sealant is required between the batten and the back of the panel to act as a moisture barrier.
A universal bracket can be used if necessary to correct unevenness in the surface alignment.
MINIMUM NUMBER OF SUPPORT POINTS FOR A PRODEMA HPL PANEL
The panel should be supported by the maximum area of the subframe element, regardless of the system. According to the diagram, at least 3 supports are required, vertically and horizontally.
If the width of the panel is within the specified dimensions (as shown in the diagram below), only two support points are required.
EXCEPTIONS
CONICAL AND TONGUE HEAD SCREWS for ventilated facades
Prodema does not allow the installation of tongue-and-groove panels on external facades. This system is
fixed with countersunk screws that prevent the panels from moving, and they are also
screwed only around the perimeter of the female connector, not the male connector; which is insufficient for the PRODEX panels to function properly according to our recommendations.
INSTALLATION SYSTEMS. Prodema Prodex elevation installation
PRODEX VISIBLE FASTENING WITH SCREWS OR RIVETS
This type of installation involves securing the PRODEX panels with exposed screws or rivets. The screws and rivets* are made of stainless steel and can be ordered in a colour that matches the panels.
The distance between screws or rivets*, both horizontally and vertically, varies depending on the thickness of the panel.
• Each element must have at least 3 support points in each direction.
• Never use countersunk screws to secure PRODEX.
* Rivets should only be used with metal subframes, not with wooden subframes.
Distances of screws and rivets from the edges of Prodex Prodema panels
Screws and rivets* must be screwed at a distance of 20 mm (minimum) to 40 mm (maximum) from the edge of the panel.
Types of fasteners
Wooden battens
Screw: SFS – TW – S – D12 – 4.8 x 38 (varnished or rolled)
* Rivets are used only for metal subframes, not wooden ones.
Metal strips. Aluminum facade structures
• SCREWS:
SFS – SX3 – L12 – 5.5 x 32 – IRIUS head (painted or rolled).
SFS – SX3 – D12 – 5.5 x 30 – TORX head (lacquered or rolled).
• RIVETS*:
SFS – AP16 – 50160 (painted or rolled).
SFS – AP16 – 50180 (painted or rolled).
SFS – AP16 – 50210 (painted or rolled).
Diameter of screw/rivet holes
The holes for exposed fastening screws must be drilled 3 mm larger than the diameter of the screw shank. This allows the panel to expand and contract freely.
Exception: the geometric center hole is permanently fixed and will be the same size as the screw shank. This fixed point ensures that the movement of the panel is evenly distributed.
Follow the drilling instructions.
Screw/rivet position during Prodex Prodema panel assembly
It is important to screw the screw/rivet into the center of the hole and make sure the fastener head is completely flush with the panel surface.
METAL SUBFRAME WITH SELF-DRILLING SCREW SFS-SX3-L 12-5.5 x 32 mm
Recommended Prodex installation tools:
Torque recommendations Prodema wooden boards:
• 2.5 mm thick aluminium strip: 5 Nm to penetrate the strip and secure the panel.
• 1.5 mm thick galvanized steel strip: 5 Nm to penetrate the strip and secure the panel.
• NOTE: These results were obtained after assembly tests in the laboratory. In any case,
the above values should always be considered as approximate. It is therefore recommended to carry out
a previous test on site to determine the appropriate value before installing PRODEX panels.
METAL ALUMINUM SUPPORT FRAME WITH RIVET SFS-AP-16-50XXX
Recommended installation tools:
• NOTE. For steel battens, marine environments, etc., A4 SS0-D15 rivets and accessories should be used.
WOOD SUBFRAME WITH SCREWS SFS-TW-S-D12-4.8 X 38 mm
HIDDEN FASTENING of Prodex Prodema panels WITH NUTS
This type of installation is carried out using screws that secure the PRODEX panels to the subframe, which are covered with 14.25 mm thick caps, supplied by Prodema in the same finish as the panels.
The mounting system is designed for use with 10 or 12 mm thick PRODEX panels.
Installation of the subframe – supporting grid for ventilated facade
To mount the strips that make up the subframe, it is necessary to calculate the distance between the strips and the fixings. The distances between the fixings vary depending on the thickness of the panel.

Installing the caps
After securing the panels, the caps are inserted to hide the screw heads. To do this, first fill
the existing cavity with flexible silicone, leaving enough space to accommodate a 2 mm thick cap.
To insert the cap and seal it properly, it is recommended to drive it in with a wooden dowel to avoid
damaging it.
HIDDEN FASTENING OF PRODEX PANELS PRODEMA VENTILATED FACADES WITH HOOKS FOR HANGER
This system allows the installation of PRODEX panels with hidden hardware. This type of installation requires panels with a thickness of 8, 10, 12 or 14 mm.
The guide rail is horizontal and mounted above main vertical aluminum subframe. Two diagonally installed self-tapping screws are used to attach the guide rail to the subframe.
Mounting the hanging hooks
The hanging hooks are attached to the back of the panel. Since the PRODEX material is very hard, a blind perforation must be made before screwing in the panel screws. It is very important to clean the holes
before screwing in the screws. Here are the different methods for attaching the hanging hooks:
TU-S mounting system:
The hole must have a diameter of 6 mm and must also be 6 mm deep. Therefore, it is very
important to use a depth locator. Ten system mocowania jest ważny tylko dla paneli 8 mm
Installation of Prodex horizontal guide rails
The aluminium guide rails are mounted horizontally on a vertical subframe, maintaining
the distance given in the table below (each panel must have at least three supports in each direction).

INSTRUCTIONS: ADHESIVE INSTALLATION OF PRODEX PRODEMA HPL FACADE PANELS
FIXED BLINDS SYSTEM HPL elevation Prodex Prodema
This system allows the installation of PRODEX panels as fixed blinds. The system is versatile enough to allow for horizontal or vertical blinds with angles of 0°, 30° or 60°.
The blind system is assembled in three simple steps:
1. Preparing the substructure
2. Installing the hardware for the blind slats
3. Installing the blind system
PREPARING THE PRODEX SUBSTRUCTURE
Installing the profiles to the building.
The first step is to assemble the façade substructure system using L-brackets to secure the aluminium profiles to the substrate. The profiles are attached to the L-brackets using 25 mm long T-M28 screws and tightened using DIN 125 A washers and DIN 943 nuts. The distance between the profile and the ground will vary depending on the selected L-bracket length.
The orientation of the blinds determines whether the profiles are installed vertically or horizontally.
Horizontal blinds require vertical profiles, while vertical blinds require horizontal profiles.
Accessories are available in mill, black, RAL or FUTURA.
It is very important that the profiles are perfectly aligned, otherwise the blinds will be uneven.
Fixed blinds also require vertical and horizontal gaps between joints and air space behind the panels to aid ventilation.
Installation of base elements for Prodema mounting profiles.
After installing the profiles, the angle or flat base parts must be installed. These parts are attached to the profiles by inserting DIN 7981 austenitic stainless steel fasteners into the holes on each side (see the image below). note that the profiles are supplied with pre-drilled holes every 20mm. Although this distance is standard, the profiles can be supplied unperforated, on request.
INSTALLATION OF BLIND SLAT FITTINGS Prodex Prodema
The hooks used to attach the blind to the subframe are attached to the rear side of the blind slat. Each PRODEX blind must have four hooks attached to the rear side. The distance between the end hooks and the edges of the panel does not may exceed 40 mm. One of the two middle louver hooks must be the middle louver hook, which has two hooks to prevent the panel from moving. Two TB-A2 TX 30 screws of 9.5 mm length will be used to attach the hooks to the PRODEX louver. Before inserting screws should be made blind perforation with a diameter of 5–5.1 mm. A 2 mm area of the full panel must remain between the blind perforation and the surface of the blind.
INSTALLATION OF FIXED BLINDS Prodex Prodema
Once the subframe and louvre slats are ready, assemble the system by simply snapping the clips
onto the base elements.
EXPANSION JOINTS
A vertical 6 mm expansion joint is required between adjacent blinds.
HAPPY SYSTEM Prodex Prodema Facades
This system is designed to be installed as a traditional plank facade and uses 8mm thick PRODEX panels with hidden fixing.
INSTALLING THE SUBFRAME Prodema Prodex HPL facade panels
Start by using the standard wooden or metal subframe required for visible installation.
INSTALLING THE PRODEX STRIPS
First, fit the anchor clips that will hold the panels. These stainless steel clips are finished in black and supplied by Prodema. The anchor clips are attached to the channels, starting from the bottom of the elevation. As the clips will hold the panels in place, it is essential that they are perfectly aligned. It is recommended to insert a block of wood behind the first clip to act as a stop.
The anchor clips are not supplied by Prodema.
THREE PRODEX PRODEMA INSTALLATION PATTERNS
Thanks to the versatility of the system, it is possible to obtain different panel patterns without having to change the position of the strips (the offset pattern must be a multiple of 600 mm).
UNIQUE PRODEX PRODEMA FACADES. UNIQUE SHAPES.
PRODEX material is so versatile that it allows creating unique facades by producing
panels in an infinite number of shapes. In this type of production, it is very important to follow the instructions.
Production of HPL PRODEX panels
There are a number of limitations and requirements that must be taken into account when manufacturing PRODEX panels
for outdoor use.
It is important to remember that each perforation increases the percentage of exposed edges to UV conditions
and moisture. This makes the panel more susceptible, so we recommend the following parameters to ensure the stability of the panel.
1. The fabrication must be carried out by a professional using the appropriate tools.
2. If the percentage of the perforation pattern is > 20%, contact Prodema for recommendations.
3. All types of perforation patterns will require a solid 75 mm border along the perimeter
of the panel.
4. The distance between perforations must never be less than 75 mm.
5. If the fabrication consists of perforations, the maximum diameter of each one must not be greater than 150 mm.
6. The maximum width of the panel opening must not exceed 30%. If the panel requires a non-standard design as described in this document, approval must be obtained from Prodema’s technical department.
Cracks caused by stress – cutting holes in HPL boards Prodex
If the panel must be perforated for aesthetic or functional reasons (vents,
installation of signs, lighting, etc.), it is very important to follow the recommendations below to avoid cracking the panel due to excessive stress.
HOLES, GROOVES, etc.:
If you have to cut holes, grooves, etc., it is very important to avoid leaving sharp edges.
The corners of the holes should be softened by cutting the largest possible radius, minimum
5 mm.
GROOVES AT THE EDGE:
It is possible that in some cases, always with the consent of the Prodema Technical Department, it will be necessary to perform machining to add a groove to the edge of the PRODEX panels (for example in the case of the installation of Clapboard facades). In these cases, it is also very important to avoid sharp edges and try to maximize their size, with a minimum recommended of 1 mm.
Prodex SUSPENDED CEILINGS
The versatility of the PRODEX system allows the panel to be installed as a suspended ceiling. Choose the installation method that best suits your project and follow the recommendations listed below
Prodex EXPOSED FASTENING
When installing PRODEX panels as a suspended ceiling, follow the instructions. It is also important to remember that the supporting structure supporting the panels is always installed perpendicular to the wood grain.
The recommended thickness of the PRODEX panel for an exposed ceiling is 8 mm (min.) and 14 mm (max.). The recommended distance between the fixing points is given in the table below.
THICKNESS of the Prodex board (mm) 8, 10 12 14
DISTANCE BETWEEN STRIPS (mm) ≤ 600 ≤ 800 ≤ 1000
• Each panel must have at least 3 support points in each direction.
• Never use countersunk screws to fix PRODEX.
Perimeter Ventilation and Expansion Joints
A minimum of 20mm of open joint is required around the perimeter of the ceiling to allow ventilation and to create similar temperature and humidity conditions on both surfaces of the panels.
Unobstructed 6-8mm expansion joints between panels are also required for ventilation purposes.
* Rivets are only used with metal sub-frames, not timber sub-frames.
HIDDEN FIXING WITH Prodex Prodema NUTS
This system allows the installation of 10-12 mm thick PRODEX panels as a suspended ceiling, using caps to hide the fasteners.
It should be noted that the subframe supporting the panels is always installed perpendicular to the wood grain.
In addition, it should also be taken into account that the battens that serve as support respect the recommended distances given in the table below.
THICKNESS (mm)
10
12
DISTANCE BETWEEN BATTENS (mm)
≤ 600
≤ 800
• Each panel must have at least 3 support points in each direction.
HIDDEN FIXING USING PRODEX HANGING PROFILES
Ceilings can also be installed as a hidden system.
Securing PRODEX panels
1. Attach the hanging hooks on the back of the panel to the guide rail, pressing upwards with even and continuous pressure until the hooks and the track anchor together. 2. Slide the hanging hook until it is snug against the guide rail. 3. Once the pieces are anchored, aligned and in their final position, they should be secured in place. We recommend using an austenitic stainless steel self-tapping screw, inserting it into the middle upper suspension hook and securing it to the horizontal guide rail.
The recommended thickness of PRODEX panels for this application is 10, 12 or 14 mm, and the distance between the hanging hooks is in accordance with the table below:
THICKNESS (mm) 10 12 14
DISTANCE BETWEEN HANGING HOOKS (mm) ≤ 600 ≤ 800 ≤ 1000

CURVED SURFACES – Prodema Curved Facades
CURVED SURFACES WITH FACETED PANELS
The curving technique consists of using flat (standard) panels to create a faceted, curved surface. Choose the installation method appropriate to the project and follow the
technical instructions in this catalog.
CURVED WITH FLAT SURFACES PANELS
PRODEX has bending properties that allow the panel to follow the radius of the curved surface and
maintain its position once attached. To ensure panel performance and correct installation,
the specifications given in the table below must be followed.
Prodema HPL board thickness specifications and mounting distances
REQUIRED BOARD RADIUS PRODEX – THICKNESS – DISTANCE BETWEEN BATTENS
3.00 m – 10.00 m 6 mm ≤ 300 mm
10.00 m – 20.00 m 8 mm ≤ 400 mm
> 20.00 m 10 mm ≤ 450 mm
This table shows the achievable curvature radii for a panel measuring 2440 x 1220 mm. A smaller radius can be obtained by reducing the width of the panel.
HPL PRODEX wood-like panels mounted as a curved surface require additional supports and fixing points than those required for a flat surface.
PRODEX PRE-BENDED facade panels
PRODEX panels can be supplied pre-bent with different radii. Depending on the desired grain direction, the panel size options will vary.
Selection of PRODEX curved panels
1) Selection of a PRODEX pre-curved panel: these panels are offered based on the grain direction, the required radius of curvature and whether it is concave or convex (see images below).
2) Radius selection: When selecting the radius option, consider the radius of curvature
of the building surface, however the panel radius does not have to correspond to this exact
measurement.
a. Consider the building’s radius of curvature.
b. Always use the standard panel radius, choosing the one that is closest to the building’s
radius of curvature, but always greater than this radius.
Examples:
Building radius 3700 mm → Pre-curved panel radius 4000 mm
Building radius 1400 mm → Pre-curved panel radius 2000 mm
NOTE: In cases where the building radius is very similar to the panel radius, e.g. 1100 mm; the nearest radius of curvature is selected, in other words 1000 mm.

It is important to remember that this type of PRODEX panel can only be installed using a visible
fastening method using screws and rivets.
Considering that in most cases the radius of curvature of the panel will be slightly larger than
the radius of curvature of the building, it is necessary to install each element on three battens, as indicated
below:
Minimum fasteners per piece and types of Prodex curved corner panels Prodema
Depending on the type of PRODEX pre-curved panel to be installed, the minimum number of
fasteners per element varies. For this reason, the required number of fasteners for a PRODEX pre-curved model is given below, depending on the type of curvature, in other words , depending on whether the elements are concave or convex. In turn, each model was assigned a different letter to facilitate identification
CONCAVE ELEMENTS
In this case the central strip
serves only as a support and
the screws or rivets are fastened
only to the side strips
of each element:
CONCAVE ELEMENTS
When assembling concave elements, the fasteners must be
attached to the middle strip ,
to adjust each element to the
required radius, as detailed below:
PRE-BENT PRODEX CORNER
PRODEX pre-curved corner panels are curved at 90º to create corner cladding. Depending on the selected grain direction, the panel formats will vary.

Choosing Prodex Prodema corner panels. Modern ventilated facades.
When choosing corner elements, first consider the desired grain direction and whether it is a convex or concave corner.
CUSTOM CURVED ELEMENTS Prodex Prodema ventilated facades assembly. Custom curved elements can be created, provided that the specifications and requirements in this catalogue are met.
Below is an example of a method for creating a sphere using PRODEX panels with exposed fasteners
Role of Prodex Prodema parts
First of all, it is very important to determine the role of each PRODEX part so that they later fit perfectly in the place where they are to be attached. In the case of a sphere, the role of each part will be the one displayed next to this text. When performing any machining of the different parts, the instructions must be followed.
Curved combinations Prodex Prodema
Once all the panels have been manufactured, they can be installed on a subframe that meets the requirements
To create the shape of a sphere, it is necessary to determine the radius of curvature (in the direction of the grain) of each element. To do this, follow the instructions given in section 3.3.4.2 and adhere to them without exception. While the elements do not bend in a direction perpendicular to the grain, although despite the reduced width, the curve is obtained in a polygonal shape, as described in detail.

AFTER INSTALLATION of the PRODEX Prodema ventilated facade
REMOVING THE PROTECTIVE SURFACE
PRODEX panels are protected by a special film on the finished side. The protective film, applied at the factory, must
be removed from the panel surface immediately after the product has been installed. Never try to remove the film from the reverse side, as it is not a protective film and is necessary for the stability of the panel.
Never leave the installed panel or the panel exposed to the elements,
with the protective film applied for more than 2-3 hours. This will prevent the film residue from being left on the panel surface and will avoid the need to remove it with special products. This will also prevent the panel from deforming.
CLEANING Prodex wooden facade boards • To the panel surface PRODEX does not adhere to dirt easily.
• If the surface becomes dirty or there are remnants of the protective film, it can be cleaned with lukewarm water mixed with liquid detergent using a soft cloth. Do not shake the surface dry.
• Never use abrasive detergents.
• In case of more stubborn dirt, the panel surface can be cleaned with a soft cloth (uncoloured) moistened with benzene-free petroleum ether (40–60ºC, light naphtha).
• Never use cloths or sponges with abrasive cleaning or grinding agents, as this may damage the surface of the product.
• Also do not use aggressive solvents such as acetone, ethyl acetate, MEC, nail polish, etc., as they can cause permanent damage by partially or completely dissolving the surface of the protective film or cause cracks that may not be visible at first glance. These products must not be used on the reverse side of the panels either.
• Drying the surface is best done using an absorbent, lint-free cloth.
• It is recommended to carry out a cleaning test on a small area of the material to check the effectiveness of the procedure, and only then proceed to cleaning the rest of the surface.
• There is no method for repairing scratched or dented panels.
• The use of solvents or chemical cleaning agents must always be done in accordance with appropriate occupational health and safety regulations.
MAINTENANCE of Prodex Prodema panels
• PRODEX panels do not require maintenance. In case of dirt, refer to the Cleaning section.
REPAIR of Prodex Prodema panels
• Natural wood is a delicate material. There is no prescribed method for repairing PRODEX panels. Damaged
panels must be replaced with new ones.
Information about waste at Prodex Prodema facades
DISPOSAL – WASTE MANAGEMENT
• The PRODEX product is part of a ventilated façade system whose main components
(aluminium, steel, wood and plastic) are easily separable and recyclable.
• Reuse: we encourage the reuse of the PRODEX panel for other applications with different requirements.
• Recycling: the cellulose fibres of the core and the thermostable wood board can be recycled.
Recycling possibilities include its use as a filler material for wood-based panels for construction applications.
Disposal in landfills: the specifications regulating and managing construction and demolition waste, as well as any applicable local regulations, must be observed. Disposal in industrial waste incinerators can also be considered.
• Substructure: the wood, aluminium or steel profiles can be reused for their original purpose or recycled if the buildings have been carefully dismantled.
