ROCKPANEL Natural is the most basic version among the panels. This durable material changes under the influence of climate.
Sunlight causes natural aging and color changes of the boards, comparable to other natural materials such as wood, concrete, steel, etc. Each microclimate has a unique effect on ROCKPANEL Natural boards. This makes the product exceptionally innovative and is often used in combination with other natural base materials.
Typical application areas for ROCKPANEL Natural facade panels are:

Natural aging of ROCKPANEL Natural boards
In nature and the environment around us, aging of boards is a natural process, resulting from the effects of weather and climate. Examples of natural aging under the influence of atmospheric factors:
- rusting and dulling of metals such as steel, aluminum and zinc
- discoloration (graying) of wood
- discoloration of stone and concrete
ROCKPANEL Natural boards combine the natural features of wood with numerous additional benefits such as high dimensional stability and water resistance.
Natural aging of ROCKPANEL Natural boards
Unlike other ROCKPANEL products, ROCKPANEL Natural boards are not primed or varnished. They offer the cleanest and most natural finish in our range and are therefore susceptible to natural ageing. ROCKPANEL Natural boards age and discolour under the influence of natural atmospheric factors such as:
- UV radiation,
- wind,
- rain
- and the surrounding environment, such as proximity to trees.
The immediate surroundings have a unique effect on ROCKPANEL Natural boards, creating an innovative product that combines well with other natural base materials.
ROCKPANEL Natural boards should not be used interchangeably with products from the ROCKPANEL Colours line (brown).
When using ROCKPANEL Natural facade panels in your project, there are several points to consider:
The formation of algae can be prevented by using an effective and efficient design. The construction should ensure complete drainage of water from the panels so that they do not retain moisture and effective ventilation allowing for quick drying. It is not recommended to plant hanging vegetation near the facade.
Dirt on ROCKPANEL Natural boards is not as easy to wash off as on coated ROCKPANEL boards. The use of aluminium allows water to drain from the front panel or double roof finish, which means that the water drains away without leaving any dirt.
The dirt can be removed with a wire brush. However, this may remove some of the natural aging surface that will initially be visible on the board. The cleaned surface will begin to age again and will match the overall appearance.
The natural aging effect of ROCKPANEL Natural boards occurs in their upper layer. Any scratches or dents will be visible immediately, but the board will start to age again and adapt to the appearance of the whole.
If the panel is placed directly on the aluminium supports, the heat of the façade will be dissipated more quickly from the supports than from the entire surface. This means that in the initial phase of ageing of the curve there will be a visible difference between the position of the supports and the surface, and the structure of the supports will be visible. This effect will disappear over time as the ageing curves of the surface and the structure of the supports become closer to each other.

Because the ageing effect of the boards occurs in their top layer, ROCKPANEL recommends using 8 mm thick boards where 6 mm boards are normally used.

Durable 10 mm Rockpanel in its purest form are facade boards from the Rockpanel Natural segment, which allow you to achieve a unique and ecological appearance of the facade. These are boards made of basalt fibers that do not have colored paints or a protective layer. The Rockpanel Natural surface changes under the influence of weather conditions, acquiring a velvety, slightly shiny brown-reddish patina. The effect is similar to how raw wood ages in the sun and rain.
Rockpanel Natural Durable is a raw, uncoated board in its purest form, with an increased thickness of 10 mm. Resistant to weather conditions, its appearance is subject to a natural aging process, which gives it a unique character. Dimensionally stable, does not delaminate or rot. Durable 10 mm is a version of this board available in standard dimensions of 1200/1250 x 2500/3050 mm, suitable for installation on facades.

- Nail: 600 mm (b max) x 400 mm (a max).
- Screw: 600 mm (b max) x 600 mm (a max).
- Flat head rivet: 600 mm (b max) x 600 mm (a max).
