Composite elevation Construction of the ATAL housing estate, Grochowska Street
Construction of the ATAL housing estate, Grochowska Street
Scope: delivery of substructure, assembly
The first completed stage includes approximately 2,200 m of cladding with horizontal white stripes, vertical grey stripes and housing of storage rooms on the building’s balconies.
The next two stages are currently under construction, with approximately 4,500 m of vertical and horizontal strip cladding and approximately 500 m2 of wall cladding on the ground floors.
The elevation cladding is made of composite board in two colors: white and gray. The boards are milled and folded in the shape of the letter C to coherently enclose the horizontal strips of the balcony slabs and the vertical strips of the storage structure.
The synthetic façade, clean and transparent in its form, emphasized by both the simplicity of form and the austere color, is an expression of unquestionable elegance and balanced moderation.
Both each individual premises and the entire building, as well as the entire estate with its coherent architecture, are elegant and beautiful in themselves.
The ATAL housing estate on Grochowska Street, also known as Nowa Grochowska, is a large-scale housing investment located in the Praga-Południe district of Warsaw. This investment is a response to the needs of residents of this part of the city who wanted to live near the city center, in a place with excellent connections to other districts, and at the same time friendly to families with children and the elderly. The first stage involved the construction of a nine-storey residential building with 155 apartments with various layouts and areas ranging from 37 to 130 m². It is complemented by parking spaces, including those with the possibility of charging electric cars, and service premises on the ground floors of the buildings. Large glazing and impressive balconies have given the development a modern and elegant character, and the subdued colors of the facades and simple shapes of the buildings have given the estate a consistent character with the surrounding buildings. The location of the investment guarantees residents convenient and quick access to the center of Warsaw. There is a tram terminus on Grochowska Street, and a bus depot on Ostrobramska Street. The Nowa Grochowska estate is just five kilometres from the Warszawa Wschodnia train station and the Stadion Narodowy metro station, and Chopin Airport is 12 kilometres away. National road number 2 also runs nearby, making it easy to bypass the city centre and get on the A2 motorway towards Poznań. Praga-Południe is a unique district of Warsaw that combines proximity to the city centre with plenty of greenery and recreational areas. Near the estate is the extensive Col. Jan Szypowski “Leśnik” Park, offering two playgrounds for children, a dog run, a TKKF sports centre and a Jordan garden with comfortable sports fields.
