Rocks melted at a temperature of 1400oC are subjected to a fiberization process, creating rock wool with a fibrous structure. Thanks to this structure, <strong>ROCKWOOL<\/strong> wool products have many valuable properties that allow them to be used as a versatile insulating material.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Remains durable for many years &#8211; Produced from basalt rock, <strong>ROCKWOOL<\/strong> wool is exceptionally durable, and its insulating properties are <strong>unchangeable over time<\/strong>. Properly used, it maintains dimensional stability and does not deform during use even in conditions of variable temperature and humidity. Additionally, ROCKWOOL wool is resistant to biological corrosion and chemicals.<\/li>\n<li>It is non-flammable and fireproof &#8211; Rock wool is <strong>non-flammable<\/strong> &#8211; ROCKWOOL products are classified in the highest class of reaction to fire A1 &#8211; they do not burn, do not produce smoke or burning drops. In addition, rock wool is fireproof &#8211; resistant to fire and fire temperatures, thanks to which it provides fire protection. ROCKWOOL products increase the fire resistance of insulated structures, providing additional valuable minutes during a potential rescue operation.<\/li>\n<li>It is a durable thermal insulation &#8211; ROCKWOOL wool retains heat in the building in winter, and protects against heat in summer (low thermal conductivity coefficient and appropriate thickness of the product used mean high thermal resistance R). The elasticity and dimensional stability of ROCKWOOL products make them fit tightly together, preventing the formation of thermal bridges, i.e. gaps through which heat escapes. By using Rockwool stone wool, we can avoid installing expensive air conditioning.<\/li>\n<li>It has soundproofing properties &#8211; Rock wool acts as excellent acoustic insulation and dampens noise, effectively muting the interior of rooms. ROCKWOOL products increase the acoustic insulation of partitions for sounds spreading in the air and those generated by impact.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/m3ziolek.pl\/en\/blog\/designers-compendium\/\">It is vapor-permeable<\/a> &#8211; Thanks to its fibrous structure, ROCKWOOL rock wool freely <strong>permeates water vapor<\/strong>. As a result, by using it in external partitions, we avoid dampness and gain a healthy and pleasant microclimate of the rooms.<\/li>\n<li>It is moisture-resistant &#8211; ROCKWOOL wool is difficult to wet, i.e. <strong>hydrophobic<\/strong> (water flows down the surface of the wool &#8211; without penetrating inside) and additionally does not absorb moisture from the air (it has negligible sorption humidity).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Mineral wool production process<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The basic raw materials in the production process of rock mineral wool are primarily <strong>basalt and gabbro<\/strong>. The process of producing ROCKWOOL rock wool begins with measuring the right proportions of raw materials and placing them in a special cast iron furnace, in which coke, used as fuel, generates a high temperature of approx. 1400 &#8211; 1500\u00b0C during combustion. At this temperature, mineral rocks (basalt and gabbro) take on the form of liquid lava. The liquid rock mass created by melting flows out of the furnace and falls by gravity onto discs rotating at a speed of several thousand revolutions per minute. The discs break down the raw metal, transforming it into fibres, which are cooled by air and collected in a settling chamber in the form of a wool carpet. During the formation of fibres, a binder and hydrophobic agents are added. From the settling chamber, the wool carpet is directed to the technological line, where it is formed by compressing and disturbing the fibres in many directions.<\/p>\n<p>Then the mineral wool passes through a polymerization chamber, where it is heated to a temperature of about 200\u00b0C &#8211; so that the added resins can fully polymerize and the material stabilizes before its final processing. The wool carpet is cooled. At the end of the line, the wool is cut to the dimensions specified in the production plan and then packed in foil. In the last stage, the packages with boards or rolls are sent to the warehouse.<\/p>\n<p>The structural, size and weight characteristics of the final products depend on the parameters and settings of the production line. Further processing of the products outside the basic technological line is possible.<\/p>\n<p>An important part of the ROCKWOOL wool production process is recycling.
